Plastics

Never as wide awake as now, pumping blood on two green teas, two espressos and a chocolate brownie, even though I shut the eyelids at 2am and opened them wide again at 7 am. The sun's been shining bright over last-nights snow cover, the city rooftops are surrounding us in this 5th floor university library capsule. If the world would end right now I'd have the most splendid view - soft and hilly horizons embracing a dark yellowish citycape, a shy spire here, a watch tower there, the law faculty dome, naked impatient tree branches. And yet it's essay period, the last one in my 17 years of education.

p.s. a rather troubling thought:
Since plastics need more than a century to degrade it is very likely that every single bit of plastic ever produced still exists in one or another form in the environment.
